's discovery of a neutron star merger is one of
Québec's top 10 discoveries of 2018
according to Québec Science. This was the first time that an event was detected both by gravitational wave observatories (
LIGO
and
Virgo
) and by Gamma-ray (
Fermi
) and X-ray (
Chandra
) space telescopes.
