EG Micro qualified for the QEC 2014 finals

QEC logo Dec 2013: EG Micro, a startup biotech founded by undergraduates Peter Yao and Philip Zimny under the guidance of Prof. Walter Reisner, is among the 18 QEC 2014 finalists, to be held on January 16-18, 2014 at Queen's.

EG Micro's goal is to develop a commercialize a single-cell DNA mapping device superior to existing technologies in terms of affordability, efficiency and accuracy. Using microfluidic technology to integrate cell selection and sample preparation with genetic mapping techniques, this “lab-on-a-chip” has many applications in the healthcare industry, ranging from clinical diagnostics to cancer research.

The team is currently looking for a cofounder with extensive experience in business development and a passion for technology. Interested individuals should contact Philip Zimny at philip dot zimny at mail dot mcgill dot ca.
