ATLAS, CMS and Babar among Physics World's 2012 Top 10 Breakthroughs.

Higgs Candidate Dec 2012: The ATLAS and CMS collaborations have won the Physics World Breakthough of the Year award for "the joint discovery of a Higgs-like particle at the LHC". Four McGill Physics faculty are part of the ATLAS collaboration: François Corriveau, Steven Robertson, Brigitte Vachon and Andreas Warburton.

The BaBar collaboration received an award for "making the first direct observation of time-reversal violation by measuring the rates at which the B0 meson changes quantum states". Two McGill Physics faculty are part of BaBar: Steve Robertson and Popat Patel (deceased).
