The Scientific Case of the Planck Mission
Institute of Astronomy Cambridge University
The PLANCK is the next major space mission following WMAP which is
designed to map the anisotropies of the CMB radiation. It is scheduled
for launch in August 2008. I will discuss the current state of the
mission and show results for simulations designed to quantify errors of
the maps and power spectra. I will also describe prospects of detecting
tensor mode anisotropies with PLANCK.
