Building Connections: Science Outreach in the McGill Department of Physics and Trottier Space Institute

Outreach Committee

Department of Physics & Trottier Space Institute
McGill University

Science communication is a vital component of doing science, and should be accessible to all. The McGill Physics Department and Trottier Space Institute at McGill have established a joint outreach committee that promotes science engagement in our community and shares the research that we do. Our programs are designed to demystify physics and astronomy research, promote the research we do at TSI and McGill physics, and showcase the people who do our science. In doing so, our students and postdocs hone valuable skills, including communication, organization, teaching, and collaboration, and build stronger networks with their peers and the community. In this colloquium, we will walk you through our vision for outreach, provide an overview of our key activities, and discuss the impact that they have on the broader communities. We will also highlight our dedicated team of volunteers and coordinators who make these initiatives possible. Please join us this Friday as we invite you to explore the depth of our outreach initiatives, learn how to be involved, and see first-hand some of our engaging activities!
