Personnal info

I am a PhD student in experimental particle physics working for the ATLAS collaboration. Since September 2017 I work under the supervision of Prof. Brigitte Vachon on ATLAS run-II data analysis. Before coming to McGill I completed my Undergraduate studies and Master's degree in Belgium at UCL working with CMS.

Research

My research goals are focused on data analysis of high energy proton−proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The LHC already led to the major discovery of the Higgs boson by the ATLAS and CMS experiments in 2012 as well as the first observations of many Standard Model – the current theory describing elementary particles – processes. Getting a better understanding the fundamental behavior of elementary particles expands our knowledge frontier and will hopefully enable us to explain many mysteries about the universe such as the nature of Dark Matter or the origin of matter itself.

Outreach

For the 2018-2019 accademic year, I am working as outreach coordinator along with Lisa Dang. More info about physics matter outreach program can be found on our website. I am alos in charge of the ATLAS masterclass with Shreya Saha. For this activity, I have built a functionning model of the ATLAS toroidal magnet in order to visualise the magnetic field of the detector.
