The 49th WINTER NUCLEAR AND PARTICLE PHYSICS CONFERENCE February 23-26, 2012 Centre des Conférences, Mont Tremblant, Québec
The Winter Nuclear and Particle Physics Conference is a national meeting for the Canadian subatomic physics community, with a special focus on providing a forum for junior researchers (students and postdocs) and interaction with groups across Canada. The 2012 meeting is being organised by McGill University, and as usual will feature sessions focusing on the research areas of interest to the Canadian community (both experimental and theoretical). There will be a number of invited talks by experts in these fields: Precision nuclear physics at ISAC Dark-matter searches Neutrino physics Particle physics at the LHC High-energy astrophysics Ultra-cold neutrons When registering, please indicate whether you will be contributing a talk, so that we know to expect your abstract. Graduate students in particular are encouraged to attend, and to present their work in front of their peers from across the country. Prizes will be awarded for the best student talks, funded jointly by the CAP's Divisions of Particle (PPD) and Nuclear (DNP) Physics. The meeting runs from the morning of Friday February 24 until midday on Sunday February 26. We hope most participants will arrive on the evening of Thursday, February 23. Friday and Saturday will have morning and evening sessions, leaving the afternoon free to enjoy Mont Tremblant's activities. Sunday will have only a morning session. |
