Vertical cross-sections of Gravity waves

This shows a sequence of vertical cross sections of the atmosphere modelled with periodic boundary conditions, Hz=5/9, Ht=2/3.The passive scalar density is shown in false colours. alpha=1.8, C1=0.1, H=0.333. To obtain waves instead of turbulent structures, the scale function is replaced by a dispersion relation but with the same scaling i.e. symmetric with respect to the same scale changing operator.
