This simulation (with , i.e. complex eigenvalues; eigenvectors rotate with scale) shows how the use of spiral singularities (scale function upper left) does not affect the fBM (upper right), leads to too strong singularities for the fLm (lower left), but subtle variations of mountains and plains for the multifractal (lower right; the three simulations have the same statistical parameters as in the previous).
