Jim Hinton
Max Planck Institut für Kernphysik Heidelberg
The HESS project currently under construction in Namibia is a
next-generation system of Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes for the
investigation of cosmic gamma rays in the 100 GeV energy range. Two of the
four telescopes of this system have now been completed. The status of the
experiment and the first astrophysics results will be presented.
