Do You Know How to Build a Quantum Computer?

C.S. Lam

Physics Department
McGill University

This is an elementary introduction to quantum computation. There have been interesting developments on software but hardware is stuck in the stone age. The purpose of this talk is to stimulate discussion so that you can go back to think about how to use condensed matter system and nanoscience techniques to construct a quantum computer of a useful size.
