Search for New Physics using Same-Sign Leptons at ATLAS

Jean-François Arguin

Université de Montréal

The experimental signature consisting of a pair of leptons with the same electric charge is very powerful to search for new physics at the LHC. Such events are predicted in a wide range of physics beyond the Standard Model, from Supersymmetry to Little Higgs, and they suffer from little background. I will first describe an analysis that casts a wide net for new physics by searching for the anomalous production of pairs of same-sign leptons with no additional selections. I will then described more specific searches based on the same signature, i.e. the search for a doubly-charged Higgs boson and, if time allows, for third generation squarks.
