The Higgs boson: where we go from here

Heather Logan

Carleton University

One year ago the LHC experiments ATLAS and CMS announced the discovery of a new particle consistent with being the long-sought Higgs boson of the Standard Model of particle physics. This discovery marks the start of a long-term experimental program of measurements of Higgs properties, through which we will learn the nature of the particle itself and of the underlying physics responsible for the breaking of the electroweak symmetry. In this talk I'll describe this program and its possible outcomes from a theory perspective.
