Special Astrophysics SeminarPathfinding a Neutral Hydrogen Dark Energy SurveyKevin BanduraCarnegie Mellon UniversityAn exciting field emerging is cosmology with 21cm radio observations. In particular, dark energy can be constrained by mapping out the cosmic web on large scales (>10 Mpc) to see the evolution of the BAO scale. Topics of discussion will include: (1) The detection of 21cm Hydrogen at redshift 0.8 in cross-correlation using the Green Bank Telescope and (2) The Pittsburgh Cylinder Prototype Telescope built to investigate the use of a modern cylindrical paraboloid interferometer as a survey instrument and its first results.
