Steve Padin

University of Chicago

Steve Padin, the project scientist for the South Pole Telescope, will describe the deployment, commissioning, and first season observations of the geographic South Pole's most ambitious telescope. Having guided the engineering, design and construction effort of the South Pole Telescope, Dr. Padin oversaw the commissioning and first season observations first-hand, while winter-overing at the South Pole. This talk will describe this project and early results.
