A Matter Bounce By Means of Ghost Condensation

Chunshan Lin

USTC & McGill

Ghost condensation was proposed as a theoretically consistent modification of gravity in the infrared. It is based on the analog of the Higgs mechanism in the kinetic sector of a scalar field Lagrangian. We will talk about its interesting features such as Lorentz-violation, equivalence principle breaking, Jeans instablity and so on. We will also talk about its application on cosmology. We will focus on its application on matter bounce cosmology. We will show how to use ghost bounce realize a non-singular matter bounce model. Besides the preservation of scale invariant spectrum of matter perturbation, our model has so many advantages such as ghost free in the spectrum of fluctuations, stable against radiation and anisotropic stress.
