Black Hole Design

Recently our understanding of black holes in D-spacetime dimensions, as solutions of the Einstein equation, has advanced greatly. Besides the well established spherical black hole we have now explicitly found other species of topologies of the event horizons. A central role in this subject is played by the solution generating techniques. I will review the status of known black hole solutions in higher dimensions, discuss some solution generating techniques and present the most recent results on exotic higher dimensional black holes.
