Interfacing squeezed light with mechanical systems

Ulrik Andersen

Technical University of Denmark

In this talk, I will discuss our recent efforts in using squeezed states of light to optimise the performance of an opto-mechanical system. Specifically, we demonstrate improved feedback cooling and improved force sensing of a mechanical system using squeezed light. At the end of my talk, I will also shortly address some recent work on using Nitrogen-Vacancy centers for magnetic field sensing.
