CPM Seminar
Taking an invention commercial - a basic intro to
Intellectual Property and the commercialization process
Erica Besso
Research Innovation Office McGill University
The research has led to an invention! First, we have to recognize it.
Then we have to gauge the market need and identify the best path to turn
our invention into a product. Commercialization has its own vocabulary
and syntax - and knowing of these is a definite asset in effecting the
transfer of an innovation from the lab to the marketplace.
