How gas-oil equilibria keep the lights on

Stephan Brauer

Morgan Schaffer

The role of dissolved-gas analysis (DGA) in the electrical power sector will be discussed, including the history of DGA in Canada, and the rapid growth underway in the world-wide market for on-line DGA instruments. A number of unusual design challenges will be presented relating to precision measurements in an industrial environment. Some observations will be made about careers for physicists in the private sector.
