Feynman's Broader Impact

Doug Osheroff
Nobel Laureate

Stanford University

Doug Osheroff, along with Robert Richardson and his Ph.D supervisor Dave Lee, received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1996 “for their discovery of superfluidity in helium-3”, work which he began as a graduate student at Cornell. Prior to this, Osheroff attended Caltech where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 1967. At Caltech, he was an undergraduate student in Richard Feynman's famous “Lectures in Physics” course which had a deep impact on him.
